FRIDAY MINORS FINAL 6/30 ... June gone? Already?

After allowing one run in his last 27 innings or so, Soroka leaves game in seventh trailing 4-1 (three earned) with bases loaded and none out. Nine hits allowed, including homer.
Only Miss. run is Acuna homer in first. Braves have two runs in three games vs. Lookouts.

Touki's rolling with a 3.85 FIP and a 3.52 xFIP this year, both career bests. 9.97 K/9 and 4.01 BB/9, both career bests over extended sample periods. He's just getting pretty unlucky with strand rate (only at 62.4%), BABIP (.330), and general sequencing, as he's giving up career low HR/9. The big explanation is probably the MASSIVE increase he's had in GB% this year, sitting at nearly 50% compared to typically being in the 36-40% range. As defenses improve behind him, results should fall further in line with the story his peripherals are telling. I'm actually really encouraged by his season so far.

He's done fine. At some point he will catch some breaks from the BABIP gods and he pendulum of board opinion will overreact in the other direction.

It's not internally logically consistent to attack both.

If you like advanced stats, you should like Touki's year so far since he has improved on his peripherals. If you like results, you should like Soroka's year (peripherals have been good too). If you like stuff, you should like both.
