Friday MINORS THREAD 5/19 ... Rome loses in 18

Not a fan of just adding guys to the 40 man, just to see what they have.. but I guess he is 25 and deserves a shot at some point.

I think they are just looking at both at AAA, not adding him to the 40 man. If he keeps mashing at AAA you have to see what he may have.

yeah... I didn't mean to imply he was being added now.. but lets say he jumps out hot for the next week. he will most certainly be brought up to the big club. at that point we have to keep him on the 40 man roster regardless of what he does after that... Again. at 25, I guess this isn't so bad... I just could see some bad things playing out here.

I guess my thing is that Loney would also have to be put on the 40... and Franco's already been a minor league free agent who's elected to stay with us. At 25, I'd rather see what he can do than see Loney in there. If he keeps hitting at AAA of course.

Anfernee Seymour is 2-2 tonight for the Fire Frogs. His average is up to .385.

Ronald Acuna is 1-1 tonight for Mississippi. Now hitting .447.

Joey Wentz just got smoked by a comebacker, looked a little bit above his knee. He was having trouble standing without assistance and ended up hobbling to the dugout with the help of a teammate.

All the talk about rebuilding with pitching and our best prospects are hitters: Swanson, Albies, Maitan, and Acuna. Those 4 are untouchable, IMO.

Damn, that sucks.

it is amazing how the fortunes have changed for the Fire Frogs. After all those 10-run outbursts, this could be the seventh straight game in which they've scored one run or less.
