Chelsea lol.

Mourinho ejected during halftime for trying to enter referee's room.

Down 2-1 to West Ham.

I don't think I've ever seen a scuffle from a top team as bad as Chelsea this year. You could argue Dortmund's start to last year, but Dortmund doesn't have a 190 million pound wage bill.

The bad news is they're only like a 4 game win streak from being back into the UCL race. Which with Chelsea they could do.

I personally hope they fire Mourinho. Just because it would be the classic Chelsea dumpster fire. Them and City are the worst.

BTW heard an interesting name to replace Wenger who really makes sense IMO. Diego Simeone. I would have put Klopp in the running, but I think he's gonna wind up doing bigger things than Arsenal (Really think Bayern will be calling) but Simeone has done well for Atletico given their relative standing to giants Real Madrid and Barcelona. I think he would fit in well with the slight underdog chip on their shoulder Arsenal is known for having.

Wenger isn't leaving for a few years at least.

Would be weird to see Kopp at Bayern. I still think Wenger will handpick his successor.

Klopp to Bayern makes sense. Bayern is Germany's unofficial national team, I'm sure they'd love a German coach and aside from maybe Joachim Low, there isn't a better or more well known German coach. And coaching a national team is very very different from coaching a club team. Which is why you see guys who've had great success at the national level struggle at club levels (Klinsmann, Capello, del Bosque)

Feel bad for arsenal. Everyone was so expecting of them to beat Bayern to take control of the group. But people forget how freaking amazing Bayern is.

Their starting XI was Neuer, Javi Martinez, Boateng, Lahm, Alaba, Thiago, Douglas Costa, Xabi Alonso, Muller, Coman, and Lewandowski. Off the bench they have Benatia, Badstuber, Robben and Vidal, they were missing other great players. Bayern is a force, never take them lightly.

Giant slaying day in Europe. Stoke downs Man City, AFC Bournemouth beats Chelsea, Monchengladbach beats Bayern (with a goal from Fabian Johnson)

To lol at Chelsea. 15 points in 15 games. -7 goal differential, closer to relegation than Europe. Just so many lulz. They should (unlike Man U who needs 3 points vs Wolfsburg or PSV to lose) advance in UCL to the knockout rounds

Basically unless you're a City fan, nothing is looking great for the top clubs in England, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man U can all get through. Arsenal 100% has to win. Man U needs a win ideally but could get by with a PSV loss or both games drawing. Chelsea needs a win or draw, Dynamo Kiev will almost certainly iwn their last game against Tel Aviv who's got a -14 goal differential. Porto is in a win or out scenario (same GD as Dynamo) a draw doesn't help them. Of course maybe Tel-aviv plays the game of their life but that's unlikely. City is on to the next round though, They'll be playing to win against Monchengladbach, and Juve against Sevilla.

Last some premier league table thoughts.

Man U's latest stumblings (and Rooney's injury) Gives Tottenham a great shot with them only being 3 points back of Man U for 4th. But Liverpool has a game in hand and could tie them on points (though well behind on GD)

Tottenham lost to bottom half Newcastle, Liverpool barely got a draw, Man U lost to Bournemouth, if Leicester beats Chelsea tomorrow, they'll be 2 points clear at the top.

McCarty has been the best dmid in the league this year and is easily better than Beckerman, who for some reason remains in the side. Both American midfielders are better than Mix. He might be a better long term asset, but we have to beat Mexico in two months.

Miazga is the guy on this roster who is going to be a USMNT player in the future. He's probably not ready for the big time, but he's been excellent this season and was a fixture for the U-20's. I've already accepted the fact he'll be Europe bound shortly.

Well that didn't take long. 5 months later and my boy is Chelsea bound on a reported $5M transfer. Massive day for US Soccer. Local (NJ) kid developed entirely in the Red Bull academy gets sold to one of the giants of the sport at age 20. Hope it works out for him there because he has the talent to be one of the best players this country has ever produced.

Unfortunately for him he'll be under a microscope. We had something similar about a decade or so ago with Brad Friedel and he passed with flying colors. Some suckers like Spector and Jozy hurts the US prospect with bigger clubs. You could even argue Howard in that group with his struggles at Man U but he redeemed himself at Everton.

Pep to City. Barring an FA Cup victory and climb from the bottom of the table, I think Man U gets rid of Van Gaal and Mourinho is the likely replacement. Granted they could go elsewhere (like naming Giggs) but he could be the man there.
