Fútbol Discusión

Bradley and Dempsey are the stars of the first half for me. And Besler/Gonzilla are showing that they're clearly the starting duo at CB and aside from one bad header and a slighlty bad reading of a run by Besler the US back has looked fantastic. Beltran is not gonna cut it but Parkhurst has inserted himself into the starting discussion.

Given how Klinsmann is, nothing is certain. Except Bradley and Howard, you don't really know. IF Landycakes stays flat you may see Zusi and Fabian out wide. Personally I hope Fabian plays fullback that's where he contributes the most. I wouldn't want both Parkhurst and Beasley back there.

Also it's confirmed by official US Soccer facebook, Wondolowski has the 3rd W sewed inside his jersey. Got to love superstitions in sports.

Does any country get royally ****ed by refs as bad as the US does regularly? In the matter of a few minutes they disallowed a legit goal, then didn't call a blatant foul against Green.

General opinion

Bradley, Dempsey, Gonzalez/Besler, Zusi, and Wondo all were great.

Parkhurst was great at times, less great at other times. Rimando was fine, can't really blame him for either goal.

Beckerman was in the negative side of both goals, I just don't like him. He never leaves me feeling happy. Beltran sucked he was OK on offense but didn't get back. Goodson sucks. He just plain sucks. It's fitting that both he and Beckerman whiffed on blocking the second goal.

Green's first match was a mixed bag, you have to guess nerves played a part and he had some heavy touches, but he looked really comfortable on the ball which is nice.

I have to admit, I liked Edu in the back, he did a good job back there.

I think for Brazil, stock up for Wondo, Rimando sealed his 3rd spot, stock down for Eddie Johnson, stock down for Goodson, stock down for Beckerman, stock down for Landycakes who snoozed through the first half of coming on.

As it is I don't think the US carries 4 strikers, and right now I think the 3 strikers are Altidore, Johannson, and Wondolowski. Eddie may get shafted because of depth and unlike Gomez he isn't much help in the midfield.

Arsenal got whooped by Everton. Everton now only a point back with a game on hand from 4th. Arsenal has an easier remaining schedule though while Everton has Man U and Man City left.

Both UCL matches are great. Both Chelsea and Dortmund are a goal down on aggregate. Chelsea a goal down from the win. Dortmund a goal down from a tie.

Poor Man U, they looked like they were going through, then Bayern came through with a flurry.

Also LOL Barca, David Villa must have had a big **** eating grin.

I've been watching Atletico a lot since they are on BeIN often.. and they are quality all across the pitch from 1 to 11. They're one of my favorite teams to watch lately and they've been handling Barca and Real all season long. I think they can take Chelsea and move into the finals. I think Bayern is going to have to go through two Madrid teams to win it this year - and I think they just may.

Would love to see Ath Madrid win it all. I've kinda tracked them in spain as I loved Forlan when I first got into soccer. Will the goalie be able to play?

Liverpool now in the drivers seat for the title. Max points now for City is 76, for Chelsea 75. All Liverpool has to do is win out. They have 2 easy games, going away to Crystal Palace and Norwich, their home matches are tough though with Chelsea and Newcastle. With a city loss or draw, Chelsea then is in drivers seat.

City Drew against Sunderland, they need some help if they want to win the league. Chelsea and Liverpool are both on Win outs and they get the league. Now City needs Liverpool and chelsea to both have losses and some goal differential help with Liverpool (City currently at a 3 GD advantage, but some big liverpool wins and they could erase that. City also has to make sure they win in Goodison Park, no easy task.

Any of you ****s been to a soccer match in England? I will be in London next year and I hope to catch a match somewhere. FIrst choice would probably be Tottenham, but I think Fulham is the closest premeir league squad to where I'll be Kinston.

I realize it isn't as dangerous and most Americans think it is, but I'm sure I would have to have head on a swivel. They don't seem to like American tourists either.

Everton is making it look like Moyes was holding them back. They jettisoned him and Fellaini and they're only a point behind Arsenal for the playin UCL spot. United's loss today basically puts thme out of Europe for next year.
