Galaxy S5 or LG G3

Wanting a new phone and its between these 2. After checking the reviews and specs it seems like the GS5 is a little betters, besides screen size and resolution(which most content it wont even matter). The only reason I may be leaning toward the LG G3 is that I have gone from Galaxy S1 to Galaxy S3 which I have now. Kind of want something different. With that being said, I have loved the Galaxy series of phones and know what to expect.

What you guys think?

Nothing against Apple, just not an Iphone guy.
 
G3 is better.

Spec wise the GS5 has no advantage. Same processor, same GPU, G3 had a RAM advantage, the only tech advantage the GS5 has is a USB 3.0 port which I don't know if it has any real benefit.

On the software side, don't know who would have the advantage. I liked the G2 a lot. I would possibly get the G3 over my Moto X. Love my Moto X though.
 
You may want to hold off for the Galaxy Alpha which should be premiered a week before the iphone6 will be
 
Trac phone.......I spend 35 dollars and I usually have minutes left after 3 months.

What a deal!!!!
 
If there's one truth about phones, it's that waiting for a phone almost always disappoints. If you had a week then fine, if you wait until the GS5 Alpha comes out in September/October, then you're only a few months away from getting the GS6. People tell me all th etime they're waiting to be wowwed with a phone, but that **** doesn't happen. Instead you just wind up waiting for something that comes and disappoints. Totally remember the same thing happening with the iPhone 5, GS4, and others. Upgrade phones are never super significant. The GS3 and GS4 and GS5 aren't massively different. G2 was a big new phone, Moto X was a big new phone, HTC One was a big new phone, The G3, the M8, and likely named X+1 are not significant updates or in the X+1's case shouldn't be big ones. New lines are big jumps then they just incrementally upgrade from there.

It's been awhile, but my mom used to have a trac phone. Was a total pain to add minutes. Seemed like hours of entering #'s into the phone would go by. Perhaps the cost was the justification.

Has it gotten easier? :)

Since I've been ensnared into a smart phone, I can't imagine not having it.
 
AA, how do you not have a smart phone?

Family plans for smartphones are not that much more expensive than the $35 you currently pay.

Yes they are. Unless you're out of contract of course then you're paying a fortune for phones of course. He said he spends 35 bucks every few months.
 
Ahh. I thought he said $35 a month. There's family plans that start at $40

I would think he or anyone could get an older smartphone for free from a friend or family member.

why do I need one?

35 is for 3 months, not one.

I dont text, I dont call anyone and if I do it is from my home phone and it is 3 dollars a month.

So why pay for stuff I dont need or use?
