Joyce was the guy...who was then pulled back when the Pirates went to a LHP.

Culberson is likely being saved as a defensive replacement for Riley in LF.

Having a 4 man bench is rough when 1 guy is the backup catcher so can't be used, and 1 guy is Riley's defensive caddy so can't be used.

Snit's 2 PH options are Joyce and Camargo...

Having a defensive caddy seems like a silly thing.

Agreed. Saving a PHer in a close game to be a defensive sub later is about as dumb as saving your best BP arm in a close game to get a save later.
