Game three - Ian’s new slider and Grissy batting 2nd.

Grissy 3 for 3…..

Grissy >Dansby

I need a full breakdown.
Only hit I saw in first game was a looping shot to CF. Want to know what that EV is.

Also want a break down of every defensive play. I 've seen nothing on his defense so I assume he looks ok making routine plays so far?

Anderson was 92-93 in the first inning, then 90-91 in the second inning. He averaged 93.9 last year.

The weird thing is baseball savant only registered him throwing a fastball, changeup and curveball today. So the new slider must just be something he's working on in the bullpen right now.

Well nevermind - he said his slider registered as a curveball on statcast. And it was the pitch he threw on one of the homers. Woof.

Ian Anderson pitched 5 scoreless innings in a World Series start but I'm afraid that might be the extent of his contribution to Atlanta. Our scouting department whiffed on thinking his curve would develop into something. I'm kind of surprised someone with such a low RPM number on his curve would be taken top 3. If I saw a sub-2000 RPM curve and the guy didn't throw high 90's with some other killer secondary offering, I wouldn't even think of drafting him top 3.

People jumped off the Grissom bandwagon fast last year.

Thats what happens when guys like Harris/Strider completey warp what it is to be a rookie.

I mean, I guess we can slam folks for being wrong on Grissom after 10 spring at bats. I typically like to wait for 15 meaningless plate appreances.. but lets do it anyways.

We've got years of minor league experience where he crushed the league at below league average ages.

I mean, I am all about me some V-grissly... but saying 2.5 years of AA and below is evidence of anything is a bit of a stretch. Not trying to throw shade.. just might want to pump the 'I told ya so' smack talk..

Please apply the next time the Mets or Phillies have an opening in their scouting department. That will set up the Braves for 20 straight division titles. Thanks in advance

I’d more likely head up their analytics departments.

I'm legit worried about our rotation. The competition for the 5 spot is suspect and we have very little depth. Fried, Morton, and Strider have all had their health run ins and Wright has apparently been dealing with some shoulder issues... depth is a big problem.

we really need 2 of Soroka/Elder/Anderson/Allard/ anyone else to step up and be playable.. not sure I like our odds on getting even one of those.

I like Soroka if he can ever step foot on a mound again. The other 3 i have no hope for.
