Garcia being traded to Twins

This dude has a big ceiling... he's 19 and already throws 4 pitches, two of which are considered plus. Don't just assume this is a bad return. The more I read about him, the more I like him.

LOL obviously you so you can declare his value increased haha.

You were wrong again. Again and again and again.

When did I say this return was indicative of a value increase?

I'd just like to know how you know it represents a value decrease?

Shocking. I'm sure he will be talked into a Top 100 guy by the end of today.

I'm still waiting for an explanation about how Garcia's value didn't increase after his last start....anyone?

Lol what are you even arguing now?

I stated Garcia's value did not increase. This trade proves that beyond all doubt.

Yet you guys will still argue.

LOL unreal...

@mlbbowman: So, in short, the Braves traded Garcia & Recker to the Twins for a marginal prospect and financial flexibility to pursue a controllable SP

Braves have a way about getting a guy that doesn't sound that great and turns out better than his rating. Keep in mind, he won't be rated very high at his age most likely.

It sounds like it was more important for us to clear cash. I expect another trade to follow this one.

How do you know that this player is not represntative of a value increase?

If you'll notice, I was never on one of your quotes. I never thought we were going to get a huge return. I just think this guy has a chance to surprise some people like Gohara did.

LOL ok bud. Keep grasping at any straw you can so you can stick to the "his value increased" line.

When you resort to the "we don't know for sure" argument...yeah...you're wrong.

I doubt it. I just think he's an intriguing enough arm and a potential SP and I might actually prefer him to Burdi given that Burdi is pretty much a relief only prospect.

What does worry me about the deal is that we might now waste prospects on a guy like Sonny Gray.

Because he's been lower on EVERY list than Burdi. Afraid that's pretty simple.

And should we look at historical lists for accuracy? This is an inexact science. This guy could be absolute trash of course. But for anyone to sit here and say this person has an absolute value of X is silly.

It looks like this was a salary dump trade anyway which isdissapointing. But any discussion involving prospects needs to include a bit of uncertainty.
