GDT 07/06/16: Braves (28-56) at Phillies (39-46)

Viz pitched in 7 games in 11 days before getting a few days off. He only gave up 2 ER in those games. Game7 has completely mismanaged the BP and Viz is shaking off rust. He is still a very good closer. he hasn't pitched since the 1st.. So Game7 used him every other day + for 11 days then sits him for 5 days.. sounds about right..

Yep and he's killing Viz trade value in the process. The way Viz who was once a major trade chip has been handled at the worst possible time is nuts. His trade value has to be going down down down now.

Snitker sucks, the entire front office sucks, I don't think we will have a quality team again until we fire the entire antiquated JS team. We need to clean house of all these silly old farts who still think it's 1995.

I don't necessarily agree with the FO leaving, but I think the coaching staff needs an overhaul after this year. I am definitely not a fan of Eddie or Terry taking over because it will be Bobby (but not as good) 4.0 with Fredi being 2.0 and Snit being 3.0.

Before yesterday's game the Braves had played 162 games since July 7th, 2015 when they were 42-42. In those 162 games they went 53-109. In all honesty, I thought it was going to be much, much worse than that. They started that stretch going 15-48, and then another stretch to start this season, 9-29. At that point of this season, the Braves were at 34-82 since 7/7/15.

Anyways, some food for thought. I am expecting to see a similar record at the end of the year, though perhaps a little better. The Braves have been playing at .404 under Snitker, so from here out that would give them 31 more wins for 57-105.

54-108 is .333 ball and I agree they might be a few ticks better than that given that September baseball often times becomes glorified exhibition games. They play the NL East in all but one game in September, so it will depend on how close the Marlins and Mets are to the Nationals. If there's a clear-cut leader and the other two teams have fallen off the WC chase, there could be a lot of coasting going on.
