GDT: 07/20/2013: Braves at White Sox

Replace Wood/Beachy with Maholm.

Yes pitching is clearly the biggest need.

We have the 2nd best ERA in the league entering today.
Maholm just needs to get out of the rotation. Beachy and/or Wood moved in. But Paul has to go.

Really sux blowing a 4 run lead against the worst lineup in baseball history. But still plenty of time to come back.

If Paul Maholm can't navigate his way through this putrid lineup then his behind needs to get out of the rotation. Right now, he's practically an automatic loss. Terrible. Let Wood or Beachy takes his spot and trade Maholm for a bag of balls at this point.

The Marlins were starting Greg Dobbs for months and were hitting Polanco 3rd.
White Sox lineup sucks but at least De Aza/Alexei/Rios are capable.

they're**.
what starter do you want and who do you want to deal for him? 2nd best ERA in the league.

When it comes to the playoffs I don't see any of out starters being able to actually shut down a good hitting team like the Cards.

I don't care what the ERA is on july 20th. Come august is doesn't count. We must improve this rotation to win a WS.

Obviously, that sucked, but it didn't help that he had Morel struck out twice without the call and Simmons just missed snagging one for a double-play.

You and I have no idea if Minor can pitch well in the postseason, but he's been damn good over the last year and I don't know why it's SO obvious to you that he can't.
Again, who do you want, and what do you want to trade?

It is 50/50. Hardly an automatic loss.

He had a good April. A decent May. A good June. And a ****ty July so far. More wins than losses in every month save for this one (so far).

So much for the lead-off double, Uggla ruins so many innings this way despite his homers. If a runner is in scoring position he isn't who you want batting.
