Ian needs to get out of the first. It's by far his worst inning.
If we don’t win today I think that makes tomorrow a definite must win.
Kind of surprised Anderson ended up with such a solid strikeout rate, considering he had those couple of starts after coming back from the IL where he didn't strike out anyone.
It's funny how the game has changed. 8.7 K/9 is just considered solid now. But that's how it is.

Heh, yeah. The thought occurred to me. Smoltz had a career strikeout rate of 8.0 per nine, and that includes his time as a closer.
Speaking of Smoltz again just because he was such a badass.
Imagine getting hurt in your mid 30's and having to convert to a closer when you were on a path to the HOF. Being an elite world-class closer. Then saying **** that and become a starter again at age 38 and go on to have 3 more 5 WAR seasons as a starter.
