GDT 10/12/23: Braves @ Phillies - NLDS Game 4 Striders Revenge

IF (capitalized) we lose this series, how much blame--if any--would you put on the front office for its relative flaccidity at the trade deadline?

I still think AA needed a SP, but no impact arms were traded, so it’s hard to blame him for not getting something done. It’s not like he was outbid on a few true impact arms…it’s quite likely there were no impact arms to be had.

Do I think a properly handled Lorenzen would be a better option than Elder? Definitely, and I said as much at the deadline, so I still would have liked to see him in Atlanta after seeing his acquisition cost.

Do I think EdRod is a massive improvement over Elder? Definitely, but we can’t know if he was ever an option, or if the Braves were also on his list.

Exactly. Right now our team is a bunch of shoulder shruggers.

Our team is pressing. It's not that they don't care. They want to win as much as anyone, they started out cold and that has them under pressure. Guys are trying to win the series every AB instead of playing loose. You do that and you lose for sure.

The braves stopped scoring in the 1st inning a few weeks ago, and they haven't been the same since. I'd almost bet that if the braves don't score in the 1st that the season is over

There’s a word for that.

Someone in the clubhouse needs to crack a good joke or something to loosen guys up. Perhaps ozuna should re-enact his "ozuna from the braves" scene
