GDT 10/17/21: Braves vs Dodgers - NLCS Game 2

Dodgers load up on lefties and Snit counters with...the same lineup as Game 1

Unfortunately, we dont have any other options, this is what we got. Arcia, Camargo or Adrianza arent starting for anyone in the IF. None of Pache, Heredia should be starting other than late inning defensive replacement, and Conteras isnt starting for TDA. If we had Soler healthy, yeah, you could mix and match somewhere.

What lineup would you suggest against Scherzer? Braves really don't have the depth to be mix and matching. I don't want Camargo, Heredia, or Pache anywhere near the starting lineup.

This is the correct lineup. Riley is always starting. No one to platoon for Duvvy.

Dodgers counter with

Betts (R)
Seager (L)
T Turner (R)
Smith (R)
Lux (L)
Taylor (R)
Bellinger (L)
Pollock (R)
Pitcher

It is odd to see Pollock rather than J Turner. Is he injured?

The initial plan should be Anderson through Betts or Seager 3x. If Anderson’s pitch count is low and/or the leverage is low, he can go through Smith.

If it’s a huge spot vs Seager, bring in Minter to stop a rally.

If Anderson’s spot comes to bat a 2nd time in a run scoring spot before he faces the order 2 full times, PH and go to Chavez through Betts or Turner.

Matzek faces Lux through Bellinger the 3rd time to force the platoons to unwind.

Luke faces the resulting stretch of RHHs if they come up a 4th time.

Smith should be used for Seager’s 4th PA, regardless of inning, but Twit won’t play it that way. Instead, we will likely see Luke vs Seager and Smith vs all those RHHs as Roberts completely out manages Twit again.

J Turner out with a neck stinger. No idea what that is, but if it lingers for another week I won’t be upset.

usually a neck stinger could be a pulled muscle or pinched nerve. I had some in high school, mine felt like when you turn your head too quickly and your neck is on fire, except it doesn't go away. Not sure if this is what Turner has, but that's my experience.

Turner was available to pinch hit on Sunday, and Roberts said he will mostly likely be back in the lineup for Game 3 in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
