Then you have MLB protecting their money making clubs. The punishment of the Braves and the lack of punishment for the Red Sox. Baseball actively trying to cover up the Yankees sign stealing.

I think that protection extends to slanting the playing field. MLB could heavily slant the playing field through having umpires manipulate the zone or through having juiced balls thrown to one team. And we're supposed to believe Baseball refuses to manipulate the results to ensure better ratings because they're noble people? They give up making lots more money for integrity? Yeah right.

Then you have the absolutely broken salary situation. A professional sports can't operate when a couple teams outspend others by $150 million.

The game is broken and I will waste no more of my time on it. I swore off the NFL a couple years ago, haven't watched a game since, and haven't missed it. I'm now swearing off MLB.

I'll still be around the other boards here as I've made friends here. But I'm done with baseball.

I just had to stop at a rest area in North Carolina on 95.

I watched the game on my phone while driving the entire time... i had to pullover and stop to let this sad feeling sink in.
 
Honestly not as mad as i should be. I mean, even if we won Game 7, we would have had Wright and Wilson vs the Rays top 2 guys fully rested. Said before i just didnt think we had enough SP once Soroka went down, sadly true. Although the pitching was fine the last 2 games, bats just went cold. The fact it went 7 with the way the pitching was set up was something. Markakis has got to go, he's just so damn bad. Credit to the Dodgers, they're amazing. Wont be the last time we see them in a NLCS.
 
My off season priorities..

Move Riley ASAP and find another 3B
Sign Ozuna if the DH sticks in the NL
Sign Bauer
Ghost Markakis...don’t return his calls or snap chats
Let Flowers walk
Sign Bauer.

It's far more than just tonight though. Each passing year MLB has just confirmed what I've already thought. Other sports leagues too.

I was already so done I didn't even watch last night. Tonight just cemented things.

I'm not even upset. I'm actually totally calm. The last out garnered nothing more than a wry smile from me. The sport is broken and they'll get no more of my time or money.
 
Great season that ended up a little short. I'm disappointed but the Braves playoff narrative is over IMO. We took the best team in baseball to the ultimate end. We didn't play perfect and you almost have to when your facing a team like this. Sucks but that's the way it is sometimes. Go Rays.
