GDT 10/20/21: Braves @ Dodgers - NLCS Game 4

I just don’t get the impression that the Dodgers’ pen is on the verge of imploding. They all seem pretty tough to me.

Not imploding, but they certainly gotta be tired. They had a bullpen game in G1, had to cover 4+ innings in each of G2 and G3, and they have another bullpen game in G5. I don't care if they have 8 Mariano Riveras down there they are gonna get worn down. And Urias pitched in G2 after throwing a lot of innings this year, plus Scherzer has a dead arm. I mean they can certainly still overcome all that, but I still like our chances a lot

I feel pretty bullish on our chances but we’ve gotta put it away if we get the chance. Only one extra base hit last night and that one should have been scored an error.

So far in the series, the Dodgers have used 22 different arms not including starting pitchers. The Braves have used a total of 14 arms, no including their starting pitchers.

I mean, every team thinks the national announcers are against their team. Other than openly building up Pujols to do something anytime he comes to the plate, I don’t see it. Ron Darling is one of the best in the game. He was probably yelling “yes” as in “he got it” rather than it being celebratory.

I don't know that the TBS crew is pro-Dodgers or anti-Braves or anything. I think the way I'd phrase it is that the media views the Dodgers as the protagonists of this series, and the Braves are just supporting characters in the drama. You can care a lot about a supporting character, but at the end of the day it's the protagonist's story, and it's pretty clear who the main character is here.

The worst game to throw a BP is the middle game of a 3 game stretch. I wonder if the Dodgers were onto something when they went with a BP game in game 1 vs game 4, or if their pitching usage dictated it.
