GDT 10/23/21 NLCS Game 6 Dodgers @ Braves: It’s Time

It's on replay on MLB Network right now, and we're bottom of the 7th with Matzek just in if you wanna relive the glory

Eddie Rosario was the obvious MVP but it’s a shame we can’t give Matzek a pitching MVP award… Minter too for that matter. We would be in huge trouble without those guys. I still can’t believe that. Pinching myself.

In the stadium after Luke gave up the run and had runners on 2nd and 3rd we all just felt like that was it and we were gonna blow it. Then Matzek just comes in and ****s… I’ve never heard a stadium as loud as when he got that 3rd K. Talk about a momentum killer turning into the craziest moment ever was something else.

I bet - what an amazing ride that must've been. It was a roller coaster at home, I can't imagine what it felt like in person. I was resigned to going to the bottom of the 7th tied. Kinda cool - the official scorer gave Matzek credit for the win. I assumed it went to Minter (who was also great), but Matzek certainly deserves it

No surprise but Charlie is officially announced as the Game 1 starter!

Valdez going for the Stros, no surprise.

Guessing we go with Soler/Freeman/Albies/Riley/Rosario/Duvall/Joc/Swanson/TDA. Then swap Soler and Rosario vs Garcia most likely in G2.

I could watch Matzek's two innings over and over. Amazing.

But big props to Snitker for going to Adrianza over Anderson in the bottom of the fourth. Yes, it's how we've been begging him to manage for years. But he actually did it! And it worked! It was one of the decisive moments in the game and, thus, the series—and it all came about due to Snitker's correct implementation of his players.

In this moment, I know we’re all thinking the same thing:

The Braves should have traded Freddie Freeman in 2016.

Languishing in purgatory at the moment. Good enough to compete but not anywhere near a world series caliber team. Shame really.

If you need a Sunday afternoon pickup, please read the LA Times NLCS previews.

Dylan Hernandez, especially, would make Bill Plashke blush with his hot takes.
