GDT 10/27/21: Braves @ Astros - World Series Game 2

I think one of the NLDS games did ... but that's it.

Braves had a slight advantage in the last game of the NLDS. Every other game has favored the opponent to some degree...eleven games worth.

To be fair, most were very small advantages...a couple as low as 0.09 runs.

I remember a few posts in this thread that Manfred had conspired against the Braves and that this Ump had already cost the Braves multiple runs by the 2nd inning.

Turns out the umpiring was ultimately a non factor.

Yeah - Fried threw too many meatballs.

Even if the scorecard was +1-2 runs Astros it wouldn't have impacted things.

Fried has got to be better. Major disappointment last night.

If you trying to sell this conspiracy, I think most of the calls complained about were early before the Astros pulled away.

Sucked to lose for sure, but coming home with a split is a great spot to be in. We were never going to sweep these guys. Now just need young Iain to show out in G3!! The crowd is going to be rocking

Game 2 saw both teams “deserve” a BA of around .208. One team played poor defense, and the other got lucky on BABIP and sequencing to win 7-2.

Game 1 saw one team “deserve” a BA of .283 while the other “deserved” a .256 value. The team that hit the ball better lost that game 6-2 because they played poor defense and the other team had some fortunate luck.

That’s how baseball usually works, and the complaining during the game is pure nonsense. The playoffs require a good bit of luck, in addition to execution and proper strategy, to win games.

We literally can see with our own eyes what the advance stats tells us with Fried last night. Telling him he needs to be better is just stupid..

Altuve hit a good pitch inside for a double, then two hardish hit balls for outs produced a run
2 strike double play ball to the second baseman that wasn't there, followed by a perfectly placed infield hit by a fast dude, followed by a dribbler past Swanson who decided to chase butterflies in LF over covering 3rd base.. next thing you know it is 4-1..

I do hope the Braves look at the 2 strike shift.. we saw the Dodgers modify the shift with 2 strikes and I think the Braves need to as well.

You would think folks could see things like that with their own eyes, yet here we are every single night, reading moronic post after moronic post about how bad each player is. Altuve’s double was hit 84 mph, which is usually a pretty good thing from the pitchers perspective. The fact it just so happened to land right down the LF line is completely out of the pitchers control.

The funniest part of it all is they don’t even know how clueless they are. These fools think they are some sort of baseball expert when they say things like “the moment was too big for him”, or complain about a hitter not punishing a good pitch to hit as if every fastball in the middle of the zone should be blasted 420’, or a pitcher enduring weak contact that still results in a hit for the opposing player is somehow not getting the job done.

Just pure stupidly, over and over and over.

You have to realize that game threads are going to be that way. People react in the heat of the moment without thinking, and get on here to vent to keep from kicking their dogs or Huascaring the nearest wall. The more rational of the complainers will realize that the sky wasn't really falling once they've had time to detach a bit.

College football threads on any major team's boards make the worst comments on here look dignified and intelligent.

Well I actually Huascared my dog on the nearest wall while kicking my wife and I was still pretty emotional..

I suppose it’s my problem then. I can’t imagine mentally detaching from reality due to a baseball game, so I just assume these people are this stupid all the time.

Or maybe they are stupid because they allow themselves to become irrational during a baseball game.

Or maybe I’m stupid because I can’t figure out who’s stupid.

Who knows…

100% the right call there.

I'm not sure whats crazier, complaining about the complainers for the 1000th time or the people complaining. After all its only been going on since forever.
