I really do think folks get too excited about tear downs these days. They are a little bit fun but they're last resorts.

It's fun to play amateur GM, but if you're in the race you are in the race and the Braves were in the race.

The two points of baseball are to win and to sell tickets and neither would have been served by raising the white flag to land a flyer prospect or two.

That is the same as saving your best pinch hitter for the 9th. You can’t get to game 7 if you don’t win games. Being up 2-1 is huge. He is a moron.

It's one extra inning at best they would have gotten out of Anderson anyway.

Maybe five years ago I would have gotten co fused or torn, but it seems like a pretty matter of fact decision to me now.

Pulling starters who are going well really bothers the baseball media. I guess it's less of a story for "faceless relievers" to do well.
 
Yeah Arod is a moron. This team does have that feeling about them that I haven’t seen in a long time. They have ‘it’.
 
Winning Game 3 was essential to our chances of winning it all. I think most of the top guys in our pen would throw three innings apiece the next two nights if you asked them.

We have potentially 4 games left. Everyone is available in my opinion. These guys will have 6 months to rest. Right now we want to only play 2 more games so throw your best bullets now. Worry about game 7 if it comes to that.
 
And now because Anderson hasn’t pitched a ton of pitches in his last two games, he’s set to pitch 100+ if needed for game 7

That's what Matzek said after the game. Asked how he felt pitching in 11 of the 13 playoff games for the Braves. Essentially he said he and everyone in the pen is good to go every night right now.
 
It doesn’t matter. It was seven days ago since we beat the dodgers.

All the workload should be with that in mind. These guys got some rest and are ready to let it rip over the next 2-4 games.

To sum up A-Roid’s hot take, he essentially thinks that Minter pitching an inning last night cost the Braves the series.
 
I'm not worried about over-usage for the series, but I am a little bit worried about those guys, particularly Matzek, down the line. Bumgarner was never the same after his WS heroics.

But the team can't worry about that right now. All hands on deck! Win this thing!

I’m sure they have some sort of policy about excess over budgeted revenues. Whether it be increases to discretionary bonuses or a carryover to following seasons.
