The Los Angeles Dodgers took control of the NL West with an amazing 2 1-2-month stretch and could let off the gas over the final weeks.
The Atlanta Braves won the East going away, their commanding lead not at all threatened by a losing record over the final month.
This notion (found here in the ESPN preview for the game) seems to cropping up a lot:
I know another poster noted another article wherein the same "discrepancy" was described, but I find it pretty funny that the Dodgers "let of the gas" at the end of season while the Braves just simply "lost games."
I think this is going to go down to the bullpens. 11- or 12-inning game. Medlen and Kershaw both go at least 8.
Well then let's just hope Fredi doesn't over manage and take Medlen out in the 6th at the first sign of trouble even though he has 73 pitches!
Since Medlen called him out, Fredi has allowed Kris to pitch pretty much as long as he likes. I don't expect tonight to be any different.
More players need to call Fredi out. We should offer a workshop.
Likewise, on both counts; though I'll moreover be posted up in a pub, hoping that nobody there is trying to watch the epic Bills/Browns tilt.
Same, but you know it's going to happen.

Fredi is just passive-aggressively trying to ruin his arm as retribution.
Crap. I've got to record TNT and TBS at the same time. This Cardinals game looks like it's not going to end anytime soon.
Niece's birthday tonight and I'll be watching the first few innings at the bar in Chilis.
I think the Cardinals game just ended.
