gdt 10.3.19: time to defrock these molestering cardinals and their enabler holbrook

They say that 1 game in the playoffs is like a coin flip. The Braves have lost 10 consecutive game 1s dating back to 2001. I've calculated the odds of flipping a coin 10 times and it landing on tails every time.

The answer is 0.0009765625%. The Braves have broken the laws of the universe.

It was a move that you see advanced analytics teams do, and we became one of those teams once AA came in. The old guard is out but the same ole Braves are still here.

Yep.

AA is in a tough situation.

Snitker wasn't his hire. Snitker was essentially a transition guy for Hart/Coppy. Nobody expected the Coppy/Hart fiasco to happen, so Snit was retained as a stayover because AA didn't wanna ruin the clubhouse.

The talent thas carried Snitker to two division titles, and we're entering the prime of our competitive window. AA can't fire him bceause it would look bad firing a manager who just won two division titles.

But, our team's growth will be stagnant under Snitker for many years.

Braves' postseason math has nothing to do with logic nor probability. We're gong to find a way to eff things up = 100%

That's the much bigger issue, the top 4 is very good, but once you get past JD, it's pretty easy pickings. AA needs to find a way to lengthen the lineup this winter. Too many easy outs after JD.

Pache and Waters becoming 3+ WAR players would be a start.

I love Mac and would keep him as a backup but Grandal would look good behind the plate and batting 5th.

I knew this in the back of my mind. Gen X’er, economics degree, in charge. Say no more. 162 games of how this game is played isn’t undone in less than 2 hours because it’s the playoffs. The game reeked of a nerd in his parents basement playing it on a Monte Carlo simulation as soon as Dallas was pulled. This is what we ended up with.

It ended up that way because of Snitker -- not because of "nerds".

Weird because the manager that managed it like a nerd playing a video game in his parents basement got the W, while the manager that managed most of the game like it was 1989, not 2019, has to explain to the press why Acuna didn't run for 3 seconds.

It's not even advanced metrics. Most starters aren't near as good the third time through the lineup, and they were clearly putting together better AB's against him. I don't see how the Keuchel decision effected anything at all. The pen didn't give up a run till Martin got hurt.

And some think injuries don't matter of are an excuse. Martin's injury derailed the game

You have to be able to adapt on the run.

Snit knows Jackson has struggled the second half of this year. He knew MM was gonna pitch the 9th to close.

Meaning, he should have had Newk and Tomlin warming up just incase Luke was struggling. After the Goldy homer it should have been even more obvios that Carpenter was on bench potentially gonna pinch hit, and Wong was due 4th in the order that inning.

So the fact he didn't have Newk ready to go against eithe rof the two lefties the cards would throw up there is inexcusable and has nothing to do with injuries derailing the game.

I'm sorry but looking for Keuchel to be macho man and soak up innings, when you can go to a website and see what his splits are, that's incorrect even if it works. And he's not the ace either.

It definitely went over the bag fair. It landed only a couple inches foul.

There is no way possible that it was a fair ball. The ball is closer to the inside lane of the baseline and it was absolutely foul and a terrible call! It’s a shame that is not a reviewable play!
