GDT 10/31/21: Braves vs Astros - World Series Game 5

On the bright side as everyone said - we came into Atlanta with two bullpen games and Ian. Two take 2 of 3 with that is something we’d have taken every time.

We have fully rested starters and the pen gets a day off tomorrow and we are finally done with this BS of figuring out how to get to the 5th inning.

I also like the fact that we forced the Astros to pitch their Game 6 starter for an inning tonight. Hope it throws him off

I think we are kidding ourselves if we had true confidence in Fried and Anderson…Ian got extremely lucky the other night and Max has been shaky. We need to end this tonight…we need someone from their bullpen to falter like ours.

Can you make an argument we got too cute last two nights on Lee and Tuckerson? Vs just going with mediocre guys but at least experienced and proven. This game could feel a lot different with a Chavez Martin start

Let’s see if we can get through an entire bullpen game without having a pinch hitter. Didn’t think we’d be into the 6th getting our first pinch hitter. Frankly unacceptable considering the only advantage you have in this type of game is that we should have gotten multiple pinch hit opportunities

I don’t think there were many good options, but I think we did.

Chavez / Smyly was successful against the Dodgers, so I’m a bit confused they didn’t really attempt to go back to it for either of these games.
