GDT #10, 4/11/'14: Braves (Teheran) vs Nats (Roark) still no Simmons

Agreed, although I did kind of like how the red looked under the Friday nighf lights. Much better than they look in day games.

I don't like our navy away unis. Classic grey and I wish they brought back the red bill on the caps instead of dark.

While I think the red unis look awful, I wouldn't be opposed to wearing the baby blues throwbacks we wore for Hank Aaron.

The cream alts don't look as good as I was hoping for. Uggla looks the worst.

I've gotten used to the navy on grey. I think the all-navy look is slick looking, especially up to bat. I remember when we first brought out the navy in 2008 we went with the two-tone caps. It was awful looking.

All 3 Washington losses have come against the Braves. The good feeling that brings doesn't last very long. These guys are pretty good.

The only two losses the BrewCrew has came to us also. That is much more amazing when you think about it. They swept Boston after we took two of three and they still haven't lost since.

I took a glimpse at the nats board and what they are saying...hilarious

Braves are lucky and theyll luck will run out eventually
Braves clearly arent as good this year
We are a better team than them

So basically everything we heard last season all season, not only from the fans but from guys like Desmond. I dont even know how you can determine at this point if we are better than last year.

Fun to see such denial from there fan base

Took me awhile to find this forum after everyone left. There have been multiple posts made by people asking where everyone went. They are deleted on sight.

Welcome aboard.... and awesome avatar you have there. Is Modok you're referencing to the one from Iron Man?

Yep we tried to fix something that wasn't broken.

Go back to the uni's we used in the 90's

Last year? That **** was straight-up comical. They couldn't even see the Braves from where they were sitting. They lost the division by 10 games. The thing that bugged me is that the media still treated Washington like the lead dog in the division, even after it became apparent that they would likely be staring at the Braves hindparts for the duration.

I thought their fans had a more realistic—even unreasonably pessimistic—view of the club. My occasional schadenfreude-motivated visits to their forum last year mostly found folks complaining about how horrible the team was, how much their bullpen blew, how soon Davey needed to be fired, how nobody cared but Bryce, etc.

Time will tell, this year. They're good. So are the Braves. All I can say with confidence is that it is fun as hell to beat them h2h.

I'm paying a little more attention this season and it's the same. Listening on mlb cable channel the other night and one of the announcers said "The only way the Braves have a chance to stay close with the Nationals is blah blah blah blah." I tuned out after the sentence's preface. They play 162 games for a reason. Nats are good. Probably more predicable starting pitching than we have, but both teams have gaping holes in the line-up (at least to me).

Happy that Justin is breaking out. He is the type of player that can carry a team. I just hope he is more consistently great this year as opposed to patches like he was last year.

K's too much to be consistent.....he'll be streaky.

Don't get too high or too low with him.

He's a very good player though and I'm thrilled to death we have him.

Curious for your take on the holes in each lineup. I think ours are obvious, where do you think the Nats weakness is?
