There is no one type GD thread. Not even two. There are 57 different types. Slippy should be allowed to identify as any type and we should all accommodate that choice, even if it requires billions of dollars, creates huge amounts of confusion and potential liability, overturns 5,000 years of tradition and history and causes the Braves to lose.

Because it's the right thing to do, obviously.

I'd like to get into that bullpen as soon as possible. That may mean taking some pitches, but approach would be to chase him early.
 
Kind of a tricky game today. Wright could force Snit into making BP mistakes that ruin their effectiveness and/or availability for games 4 and 5.

I would make Oday, Matzek, Martin and Melancon off limits today no matter what happens. Ynoa off limits as well since he is likely the starter tomorrow.

Dayton and Minter must be ready to face the LHH sprinkled in the Marlins lineup. Snit must be ready to lift Wright early, perhaps before he faces the LHH at the bottom half a 2nd time. All depending on leverage of the situation.

In the event Wright has to come out early in a close game, Snit will have to burn Tomlin to cover some bulk innings. This means Tomlin is unavailable to cover innings after Ynoa tomorrow.

In the event Wright gets his doors blown off early, Snit needs to concede this game and allow Wright to be blasted a bit for as many innings as 80+ pitches cover.

Agreed. The Braves have the advantage in offense and in the bullpen. The faster we can take SP out of the equation the better.

Did you mean Smith instead of Martin? Smith has pitched in both games while Martin had the day off yesterday.

We have wilson too. If we are leading after 7 I expect everyone to be available and used. Closing it out is more important than tomorrow. Closing it down now gives you 3 full days of rest.

I wouldn't use Wilson for anything other than covering bulk low leverage innings. Tomlin for bulk meaningful innings, Wilson in a blow out.

BP arms for a 3rd day in a row are likely less effective than a fresh Minter, Greene and Martin. Use the guys a 3rd day and they are likely shot for the rest of the series...including a potential elimination game.
 
My fear is a well rested Wright is going to come out fired up throwing 98 wildly, never getting a feel for his breaking stuff.

He doesn't seem to be cool and collected like Anderson, and I hope he can rein it in for his first start.

Dayton and maybe less so Minter seem expendable this series, especially with the 3 batter rule. The Marlins top hitters are all righties, aside from Dickerson, Joyce and Sierra, who they scatter throughout the lineup. So if you bring in a lefty to face those guys, they will also be facing two righties as well.

Really, really wish Snit was smart enough to know how to use an opener. Would help out tremendously in a game like this.

Yep. That's what having a 2-0 lead allows for. Wright needs to throw at least 4 innings minimum, no matter the run cost. Hopefully, we get a nice lead this game and this becomes a moot point.
