GDT 11/2/21: Braves @ Astros - World Series Game 6

We are world champions. When Acuna went down I threw in the towel. Now we are world champions.

Still can’t go to sleep. This is the first one I’ve gotten to enjoy and experience. I became a fan in ‘95 at 6 years old when I heard my dad yelling when Grissom caught the fly ball. Was there in person as a 7-year-old for Jim Leyritz. Witnessed and lived a whole lot more heartache and bitter disappointment in the 25 years since. Waited a long time for this night and I’ll cherish it forever.

Confession time. I threw in the towel too many times. Even in post season. Have had so many rock bottom moments.

Leyritz
Poor Brooks Conrad who I still love btw
Infield fly
the Cardinals owning us and breaking our hearts.
3-1 last year.

Can you imagine if we didn't win tonight, or tomorrow? We'd always be the chokers.

Tonight means so much.

Thanks to all of you who have endured me over the years. I haven't been a nice person on these boards, but we've all been here so long. Thanks to all of you who have been kind and tolerant. All of you have made this journey so rich. Thank you.

One huge positive was also how good Kyle Wright looked in both appearances... after finishing the year dominating at AAA.

Keep him coming out of the pen and he can be an asset. They should have been developing him as a multi inning reliever years ago.

I was there for Brooks Conrad too. All the bull**** you mentioned, and especially last year, made this all the more special, and it was worth it. In fact I would argue the blown lead against the Dodgers last year was necessary for this core group to go through to make them tough enough to weather the storms this year and get the job done.

I've been watching all the post game stuff and just reveling in all of this. I was so f'ing nervous for the last 48 hours going in I could barely watch. But that last out, I stood there and cried for five minutes and hugged my wife. Just an overwhelming moment, because the Braves, and you guys, are part of my every day for almost the whole year. I'm so thankful for this site to not only get my news and insights, but be part of a fan community that does what I do: live and die with the Braves for every game. AND WE F"ING DID IT! WE DID IT!

I feel like Travis D'Arnaud will be a Braves lifer. He probably will stay cheap as a backup to Langs when he takes over.

I thought Ross would be a lifer with us.

D'Arnaud I can easily see moving to a coaching role with us once he hangs it up. Would be about around the time Snit retires.
