imo democrats would be better off stop trying to court republican voters and caring if republicans say mean things to them

They would be better off saying, "hey white guy, I understand your concerns about the decentralization of power away from the straight white male. Here is how we are going to make sure you aren't marginalized if the pendulum swings too far the other way (hello affirmative action)".

Instead, they say, "shut up you racist white asshole. You're stupid and have nothing to complain about."

Then they wonder why the Trump cult started...

They fall over themselves trying not to be mean to Republicans. Obama didnt publicly say anything about Russia and Trump because he didnt want Republicans to say he put his finger on the scale. You see how that turned out. Biden said he was going to put Republicans in his cabinet. Pelosi says the country needs a strong and healthy Republican party. Etc

This is even worse considering that the American people didn't pick him in 2016, and they aren't going to pick him this time, either. Now, whether an outdated and flawed system still gives him the presidency is yet to be seen, but the American people have spoken twice now, and both times they were saying they didn't want Trump.
