Agreed. There was a reason DC boarded up on election night. Combined with increasing poverty, endless lockdowns, and lack of trust in all institutions, further violence is inevitable

There's a simple fix to this, tell people storming the capital to disperse now or be arrested on charges of domestic terrorism.

Then go to the White House and charge Trump with treason. Like at some point you have to call this what it is, it's Trump half assedly attempting a coup.

Who exactly do you think has the authority to do that. They need to not escalate this any more than it needs to be. This will blow over. We need to take extreme caution in heated political moments like this.

No, if you want to put an end to this, stamp it out. If you want to let it run you can, but this will foment and emboldent the worst parts of this movement.

As far as who can arrest Trump for Treason, 25th Amendment has a path to get rid of Trump and instate Pence as president. Everything goes from there.

Nsacpi would describe this as throwing gas on the fire.

Cajun, genuinely asking if your 99% of protesters were peaceful stance from before is applied here?

The report was that 97% of protests.... not protests..... were peaceful. I am perfectly fine with arresting people for looting and burning **** down. What I dont support is brutalizing the mass of protesters who are peaceful because of the actions of a few.

I would think a confederate flag in the Capitol Building would have the founders of the Republican Party rolling in their grave.

What part of that do you think de-escalates this situation. 25th amendment is a pipe dream that has no chance in reality. Everything is going to be okay. These people need to eat and use the bathroom. Nature will take care of this for us.

Yeah. At least it is targeted at the government and not innocent civilians. Only silver lining i got on this one

Well, there is certainly some possibility that the fear of what could have been will motivate politicians to turn down the heat. And I'm generally in favor of rulers having a healthy fear of their subjects. But I don't like how it's been done today.

Bruce Wayne: The bandit, in the forest in Burma, did you catch him?

Alfred: Yes.

Bruce Wayne: How?

Alfred: We burned the forest down.

When dealing with people who are already crossing this line, you have to push back. Unless you want this reaction anytime Donny Boy sends out a stupid tweet.
