Well, I'm about as far as to right socially as you can get without going into Amish country. And I see a lot of problems with our iteration of capitalism that would only become worse under libertarians. And I would like for my kids to have an atmosphere with breathable air when they're older, and the free market won't solve that on it's own. But I do respect the general sentiment, I just get bogged down in the details.

Didn't Trump gain pretty big in minority vote?

He gained due to his "law and order" and "anti-socialist" rantings. Latinos from places like Venezuela and Cuba tend to be VERY anti-socialism based on their life experiences.

The fact remains "white male no college" and those who depend on those males is the Trumpkin base. They see the only thing they have to offer this world, the privilege that comes with being white, being threatened by blacks, browns, gays, and whatever other boogeyman the GOP puts in front of them. That's terrifying to these people, and Trump offers to save them.

It is a cult by every definition.

As with both Republicans and Democrats, there are many versions of Libertarians. Both me and Sturg advocate for Libertarians and you can see how wildly we diverge on a lot of issues. Theres plenty of things I disagree with thats considered ideologically pure for Libertarians like going back to the gold standard. Even if they wont they would still have to work within the system and compromise with the opposing parties. I can understand why a Ron Paul or Jorgenson might scare some people off but realistically they couldnt do all the cutting and gutting they campaign on. Both would have worked within the system to move the country in a Libertarian direction much like any Republican or Democrat President never really gets to fully implement what they want. There are quality Libertarians who I think are more just principled Republicans like Gary Johnson or Amash who I think would resonate with America if they had an equal footing in American politics.

The absolute best thing for out country imo is to break the two party monopoly on politics. I would vote for a Green party candidate or just about any other third party candidate if they had a real chance just to try and break that stranglehold on power the Republicrats have. Both sides play stupid political propaganda games to demonize the other sizde fo their own benefit and thats whats tearing the country apart. Most people arent aware enough to see themselves being manipulated by these dishonest actors.

People like Enscheff have nothing but contempt for Trump supporters but they tend to overlook the fact that Trump supporters make up a fairly sizable chunk of our country. Railing at them, insulting them, and marginalizing them only drives them more toward Trump. The whole reason you get a Trump is these people feel threatened, ignored, and looked down on. It doesn't matter if their feelings are true, the fact is their feelings are real. Disregard that fact and you end up with Trump.

I don't know if I've seen this information anywhere, so I'll ask the question here:

Who paid for and organized the "Save America" rally that Trump spoke at on Wednesday?

Don't trust exit polls in an election where a large portion of the electorate voted early or via Mail In.

Seriously, exit polls were worthless. Any inroads Trump made were likely overstated by Trump voters being more likely to vote in person on the day of the election when they'd be taking exit polls.

Yes.
There was a sense of this in the media briefly right after the 2016 election. I hoped the recognition that half the country lives outside the coast and cities would bring about a real change in the entire tone of the country.

They just reassigned all of those reporters instead.

George I’m wondering the same thing. Flags? Buses? Banners?

All that AV equipment, both at incitement rally and at Capitol?

There needs to be an investigation into all of that.

I thought it was important before to remove Trump to stop all this from happening. Now that it HAS happened, I think it is imperative that Trump is removed.

The reason we got Trump was because the Republican field in 2016 was too wide open. Look at the early election results.

Trump was getting results. But his base is about 1/3 of the republican base if even that much. A helathy chunk of those people probably wouldn't vote for Trump again. The majority would.

PErsonally I don't give a **** about Q Anon Trumpers.

I'm glad you chimed in. You're the first person I think of when the siloing of social media comes up.

He meant the one, not realizing that the official protesters killed by cop death toll from the Summer is one and not zero. I think I let him know, but I can't recall for sure.
