GDT #12, 4/13/'14: Braves (Harang) vs Nats (Gio); No Gattis, CJ, or Uggla

It's funny how they bring up their injuries, fair point they are pretty hurt, but.

Atl is missing Beachy/Medlen for the year, Venters out awhile, Minor out another 1-2 weeks.

Yet thats no big deal.

The Nats announcers make me like Hawk Harrelson.

Let's offer to outfit all visiting teams with Walgreens uniforms.

Last year it was early June or whatever and I got into it with Matt Chernoff and some other clown because I was calling the division race over and they kept saying that the Nats weren't done yet. Well I'm calling the division race over right now! Braves already got this thing won.

Curse of death right there.

Whats going to happen when Minor replaces Hale in the rotation? I still just can't get over that we are the second youngest team in baseball.

Hale to pen.

Roto: Santana, Minor, Wood, Julio, Harang.

Forgot we had Floyd too, tough decisions

We of all fan bases should know there's no such thing as too much pitching. Harang may be a pumpkin, but if he keeps this up, he's going to make it tough to take him out of the rotation.

They will take their time with Floyd if Harang continues to pitch well.

Great to sweep the Nationals, we really could've and should've both series. They played terrible the last two games, and we're clearly in their heads. They gave us a real battle Friday and still lost, that is a game they thought they'd stolen after the Uggla error followed by a three-run homer. But thanks a lot to a red hot Justin Upton we took it right back. Justin is on one of those hot streaks like last April where he carries a team.

Also, good to see some life from BJ Upton the last few too. But I will need to see more to believe Chipper has fixed him.

Yeah, probably, he's better suited for the bullpen though.

He is fine as a starter, though anyone pitching to Doumit won't look as good (such as his last start, not to mention Doumit inability to throw). But I agree we have a need in the bullpen he could fill better once Minor and/or Floyd are ready. Schlosser just hasn't looked as good of late, Hale could replace him in the bullpen.

What's it gonna take or what do we have to do in order for JUp to play like this consistently?

I mean, you can't expect him to continue to be on the tear he is now, but how he can go from looking like one of the elite power guys in the game to a guy that consistently swings and misses at cookies down the middle of the plate is baffling.
