GDT #16, 4/18/14: Braves (Harang) @ Mets (Niese) 7:10 PM;Heyward out, Simmons LEADOFF

Oh, I completely understand. Being a baseball fan is an emotional thing, especially with a team like the Braves! I look forward to spending time getting to know everyone and trying to post as much as often (as you may of noticed I've been doing so far). The other forum I go to is much like that emotion wise, but there's just a lot of personal attacks and that's not what I want to see.

Also:
#Braves Heyward said Fredi had told them all they'd get at least one day off in this long stretch, then told him yesterday he'd be off today

I don't fully agree with getting tonight off, but I think we may see him PHing if we get in a tight spot.

Welcome aboard to new guy. This forum contains a mix of people. Some who will complain about every single thing and be doom and gloom. And some who will cry when anyone criticizes anything about the team or any decision because knowledge picked up from playing or watching thousands upon thousands of games over the years only counts sometimes. Most are pretty level-headed and well-educated in the game.

In short, it's the best board out there. Enjoy.

Just curious, what was the tweet that lead you here? I need to know who to thank.

As for personal attacks, you'll see them on here (as you can see murph and gilesfan already in midseason form), but in other threads it doesn't get bad. It's generally just the game day thread where the emotion is obviously. Someone will be negative and blame Fredi, then another poster will come in and say stop blaming Fredi and being so negative, then it's back and forth If Fredi did this if Fredi did that, then it's well you aren't a major league manager so how would you know?

The worst of it are the second guessing Fredi posts, but if we win they're at a minimum. We have a designated Fredi Rant thread, so anything bashing Fredi not pertaining to the live baseball game at the time will be moved or relegated there. The job is to minimize the Fredi bashing from seeping into other threads on here. As I tell all the newbies, the gameday thread is the house of horrors that you'll have some kicks and giggles reading. A roller coaster as I mentioned previously, just gotta go with it and learn to ignore some of the negativity and just know it's part of the game lol. I call it the "human element" of a discussion board.

That Fredi picture never disappoints.

It's like he's in a bum mood after a loss, and the two microphones are basically a metaphor for "Can you ask us why you made such a boneheaded decision in the 8th?"

The actual picture in question, I wouldn't be surprised if it was after a win and they were just asking him the run around "How big was that hit in the 6th?"

Attack?? Nah, just having a bit of fun. I don't take myself seriously, neither should you

gilesfan's been a bit sensitive lately.

Doesn't like the fact everyone has pretty much knows about his duel team same division affair. In addition, yeezus, sturg etc have been flirting with him everywhere on the site, he thinks they're obsessed with him.
