GDT #18, 4/20/14: Braves (Hale) @ Mets (Wheeler) 1:10 PM

Not a surprising outcome.

4-2 road trip, cant complain though im sure most will.

You win 12 out of every 18 ballgames all season and you're in good shape and screw the Nats. By the way, this loss was well earned by the Braves.

I take the blame for this one. I left my parents place just as it was heading to extras... no more then walked through my house door and the Braves lost. Sorry, guys.

We can't win them all but I hate the Mets and want to beat them every time we play them. Good to see Jason get 3 hits today.

Listening to the Mets broadcast on the car radio today, they said the middle of the Braves infield has a concert pianist on the left side of second base and some guy playing "chopsticks" on the other side.

That's not bad.

Frankly, Uggla's defense was the principal argument for not giving La Stella more of a chance. A few more games like this, and Uggs will have to be tearing the cover off the ball to merit keeping his job. I had a flashback to the all-star game, when he was the punchline to nearly every joke.

What do you mean by this bc Ugglas defense has always been bad

If he had determined that it would be best not to use Walden and Kimbrel today (and I think not using them was a reasonable call), should Fredi have given a second inning to a couple of the other relievers. Pitch counts were 11 for Thomas, 10 for Carpenter, 17 for Varvaro and 18 for Avilan. Thomas and Avilan were not pinch hit for. If he knew he was working with a 5 man pen in a close game that was likely to go extra inninings, why not use one or two of those guys for two innings.

We got to the 14th inning, only so many times you can shut them out for.

Offense had to do something and they didnt.

Loses like this happen. I'm highly impressed we got to as far as we did with the shaky defense we had today. The BP impressed me more than anything and Schlosser showed me something. Gotta keep winning series either way! Go Bravos!

Just had time to look back at the highlights... referring back to Harper's lack of hustle for the Nats... sad to see that JUP had a bit of his own lack of hustle on his triple. He was basically jogging from home to first... rounded first at a decent clip and then slowed again before picking it back up. He was standing at third before the cut-off man even got the ball. If he was running full speed, he scores.

Oh well, though. Can't win them all.
