GDT #19 4/21/14: Marlins (Koehler) @ Braves (Teheran), 7:10

He's the leadoff man, struggling, in another RBI opportunity. I'm disappointed he decided to bunt instead of taking it into his own hands.

Understood. If it's one out I would agree to take it in his own hands

No outs the bunt wasn't the wrong call, may not have been the right call.

Bobby would've done the same thing.

ftr, i looked for the Fredi thread

So let me recap this. Mainly typing this so I can understand it myself.

Fredi is an idiot. Jason hates bunting more than he hates baseball. Krovahn is going all rico tonight. Keith has poor grammar skills.

Did I leave anything out?

Maybe defensible with a good bunter, even though it lowers the chances of scoring slightly. Supposed to know your personnel as a manager, I think I heard somewhere.

Agreed, he has his really rough stretches, but he's had three out of four well-above average years in the majors, and one probably average to slightly below. Calling him well below average is absurd and just incorrect. It's an incorrect opinion based on very, very, VERY little.

3 outta 4 well above average years??

3 outta 4 well above average years??

Uh, yes?
Look at the average numbers for a RFer in 2010, 2012, and 2013.
Then look at Heyward's numbers. They are above average. Not even relatively close to "well below average."

I will sticky it. I'm also working with a developer to create a Fredi button next to the reply and quote buttons that would directly link you to the Fredi thread.

Rookie year, pretty good.

Second year, not great, thumb injury hurt him.

Third year, awesome.

Last year, inbetween his first and second, so yeah, 3 good ones.

This year, TBD.
