Is Jason choosing to wear the face guard, or did the med staff mandate it? I like the look of it if nothing else.

I'm pretty sure before the season they said it was a precaution more than a necessity. Kind of like wearing ankle braces after you hurt your ankle. Except reinjuring a fractured jaw sucks way harder.

Oppo home run sure.

Gattis actually had a big opposite field two RBI single last season vs the Nationals. He ended up batting lead off that game and that hit proved the difference. You're right about that opposite field power though, he hit a grand slam vs the Twins like that.

He said he felt more comfortable wearing it. He looks badass. Anyone else, probably not so much.

Wow what an absolutely disgraceful AB by Pena.

Really par for the course for him. He's a horrible hitter. I have to say I'm shocked they threw a strike to Jason with Bossman behind him, little lucky that he lined out and that didn't land cause that could have been another run, or I mean runners at 2nd and 3rd cause Gattis is a slow Mother.

I wonder how much patience Fredi will have with BJ. Probably a lot if he talks to BC about it.

Gameday has had one pitch in each of the first two ABs down the middle called a ball. Has that actually happened?
