Is there a history of Chip and cocaine? I've never understood the reference...

Chip doesn't like the cocaine, but the cocaine sure does like him.

Best I recall it started on the post-scout, pre-chopcountry placeholder board. There was a joke about us being pantsless for game threads, which morphed into a joke about Chip being pantsless in the booth, which morphed into a series of jokes about Chip holding pantsless cocaine parties at his house after home games. The idea of dorky family guy Chip Caray hosting coke-fueled bacchanals was just ridiculous enough to get some traction. I had the pic of Chip with the AK (which had been forbidden from Scout) and someone (zito or Cy?) suggested that he be pantsless in the picture. A giant coke mirror seemed like a logical progression.

I dont think Diaz moved his left hand for 5 hours.....he held a clinched fist during the whole pregame and postgame....a lil nervous me thinks

Happy we won but what use does Uggla have anymore? Pena everyday is a much better option at this point.

Made a superb diving stop earlier in the game. But I am not going to debate Uggla; Braves proved in spring training it doesn't matter. He's it.

So my point about Heyward's weird little ministreak. I didn't feel like doing the math so I waited for B-Ref to update the stats for me.

Anyway over Heyward's last 6 games he's had a very un-Heyward streak. He's got only 2 BB in nearly 30 PA, hasn't stolen a base, and has only one extra base hit (double) but over that time frame he's hitting .346.

ALso FWIW the Braves dont' have a negative offensive fWAR starter. Doumit is the only negative position player. Struggla is at a 0. Johnson 0.2, Bossman 0.3 Heyward 0.5, Simmons 0.6, Gattis 0.9 and Freddie and Justin both at 1.1. Overall we have the 3rd highest fWAR in the NL for position players behind the Rockies and Reds, mainly driven by the best defensive numbers in baseball so far, and we have the highest fWAR on the pitching side (in baseball). Our team FIP is 2.62, next lowest is the Nats at 3.22 we're still number 1 in xFIP as well which brings down big time the Harangutang's numbers at 3.19 (Brewers second at 3.31) And as I'm sure everyone knows we have the lowest ERA in baseball.

Basically our pitching has rocked this month. Let's hope it stays as rocking as we've been to start the season. We're one of the best teams in baseball right now and it's fun to watch.

That might've been the best outfield assist I've ever seen from Heyward. Sometimes his throws are way off the mark or don't make it to the catcher on one bounce, and that throw was from deep outfield, that wasn't a short fly ball.

This might be the single greatest paragraph about baseball that I've ever read.
