GDT #24, 4/27/'14: (Cueto) vs. Braves (Teheran)

Hopefully the trio of Freeman/Justin/White Bear can keep carrying this team because the embarrassing quartet of Heyward/BJ/Uggla/Johnson is really bringing the offense down. BJ seems to be playing better lately however but on the season all 4 are way way below average with the stick.

Just finished watching the game on dvr delay. Wow - an old school pitchers duel. I was a bit frustrated by the volkswagon sized strike zone, but finally someone flinched and it was the Reds. Parra was an odd choice to pitch there, as he absolutely sucks.

Reading through today's thread all at once, it seems Heyward the poster is having as bad a year as Heyward the player. Maybe they both need a few days off?

I say let them both play through their slumps. Benching them will affect their confidence and psyche.

Don't worry. I am sure my new alias will have plenty to say.

LOL. There was a pretty good football player who played for the Minnesota Gophers and Green Bay Packers with the name Mike Hunt. I'm a Gopher football fan and was listening to the broadcast when Hunt, a linebacker, failed to pick up a fumble that if he had picked up would have likely resulted in him scoring a touchdown. The announcer said, "Ohhhhhhhhhhh! The was nothing except 90 yards of dirt and grass in front of Mike Hunt!" We still use that phrase periodically.

@Awood45: Juli00000000!!!!!! #wheelin #dealin @Julio_Teheran

Had to do a double take when I read that. At first I thought it said Julio3000.

As did I when you posted it.

Although, as someone who seeks validation via others on the internet, I guess I should just be happy that he's doing so well.

As terrible as Heyward has been on offense he is still number 6 in the NL in WAR at 1.3.

Don't want to start a war, but I can't put much faith in a stat that says Heyward is the 6th best player in the NL so far this season, defense or not.

Playing better ? He's got 1 HR and 2 RBI. He sucks.
