GDT 28/7/2020: Brave New Post-Folty World Leaves Everything Faulty

Well that wasn’t a bad pitch, but if you can’t command your fastball, they are going to sit and wait for those.

Radio is all over Jackson and Wright for going away from what worked. Seems like they don’t like Jackson calling the game. My question is why is Jackson calling a game

I don’t know what happened / is happening, but it seems like dude just can’t grip the ball suddenly. He’s had a half-dozen totally wasted pitches flying several feet outside, after exhibiting really good command the first two innings.

Wright looks tired. He’s not executing his pitches. Every 3rd pitch is non-competitive. Looks like Newk out there.

Wright sucks. Flat fastball and ****ty command. He's been the same pitcher for 3 years with no improvement. Touki, Wilson, and Wright all look like busts.

Did everyone enjoy listening to Glavine explain that he, as a HoF pitcher with perhaps the best LH change up in the history of the sport, could get a hitter out 2-3 times the same way, therefore analytics are wrong?

Can’t argue with that logic!!

Each one of these diagnoses is extremely premature.

That seemed like a inning that wouldn’t happen with a veteran pitcher and or catcher. Seemed like they were just setting up and trying it again each batter with no plan or strategy. Hopefully Wright will take this as a good start that just got away from him.

Boy, did the wheels fall off Wright's wagon in a hurry.

We had bases loaded, nobody out and got a run. Rays do the same thing, get four runs, and they may not be done yet.
