Baldwin should try hitting the ball in the air. I know he struggled with that in the minors. Those ground balls are not going to get through up here.

I think that will happen. This is first week in the major leagues and he's hitting the ball hard. I remember the same comments regarding Harris when he first came up a in 2022. When a player isn't a finished project, the process is probably going to unfold (1) contact, (2) hard contact, (3) launch angle, (4) risk/reward on contact v. swinging hard. Baldwin seems to have (1) and (2) in the bank. The rest will likely come.

Well said. He has good bat speed and good hard contact skills. He'll be fine.

Well said. He has good bat speed and good hard contact skills. He'll be fine.

I’m extremely happy we’re having patient at bats and drawing some walks. We’ve done a good job of getting guys on base which is step 1.

Now we just need to learn to change our approach when we have runners in scoring position and we should be able to score runs even when we don’t have the long ball.
