GDT: 30 Aug 22…Rockies vs Braves 7:20 pm

Since the extension, Riley...

.230/.339/.350

Hardly his fault tonight. Harris diving for a ball that landed 5 feet in front him…our catchers having an absolutely abysmal night at the plate. And the continuation of playing god damn Grossman.

Not saying it's his fault, but he needs to start hitting again. This team can't have another month of .689
Ops with Acuna hurt worse than we're being told

Brutal losses in three straight. Oddly enough, Atlanta played way better than the Cardinals - just unlucky losses. They played like **** tonight. No preparation, for sure.

They overlooked them…plain and simple. Stat padding big dicken ball players…all they think
They are. Got the big contracts and
Living on cloud fckn 9…too good to play the game fundamentally the right way.

AA gonna have to fix LF with a real player this offseason.

More like this week….Figure Ozuna the Fck out for god sakes man…Yes his character is that of a ham sandwich but I’ll take his power potential and a chance to run into one over
Grossman anyway of the week…

On Riley... He is a streaky hitter in that he will be a .750 OPS as a baseline and then have 100 ABS of 1.25+ like he did in July. When he gets hot like that again, I'd prefer it be in October.

Maybe Ronald and Ozzie can come back and get hot like that at the same time.

I agree on both counts. As some, including myself, have speculated that if Swanson returns, then maybe Grissom becomes an outfielder and takes over left.

Yeah that’s the only place he could play and get regular at bats. Like Frenchy said last night, when Ozzie comes back you’ll see Grissom go to the OF.

As expected, it looks like we’re all going to be wishing that AA got a legitimate upgrade for LF at the deadline.

The Rockies are one win away from winning seven straight series in Atlanta. I think they’ve only fielded one good team in those seven years.

Grissom likely wouldn't be Gattis out there, but it would be an adjustment for sure. But if he hits, we'll likely have to tolerate some intermittent adventures.

I really do have to laugh a bit. Someone posted an article after Grossman hit a couple of HRs that lauded the Brave's analytics staff for noticing something Grossman had changed while in Detroit and that the Braves had solved the problem by rebooting him to some extent. Grossman isn't a terrible player by any means (he's had a decent career although he's never been a very good defensive OF and he's likely reaching the end), but to suggest that any analytic department was going to transform him into the guy who would solve our LF problem just isn't being realistic.

Anthopoulos took a shot and that's all we can really ask of him, but the dice clearly weren't as hot as they were for him last deadline. I will say that he really didn't think clearly about the OF situation during the off-season. Maybe the lockout contributed and maybe the Freeman situation contributed, but he just didn't realize the seriousness of the problem and the need for a better remedy.

Yeah I think most of us knew Grossman wasn’t gonna be the answer they just tried to sell us he was. He’ll with be looking for a big upgrade out there or let Grissom have LF.
