GDT #31: 5/5/14 Cardinals vs Braves 7:10 PM

Fredi must have a spy on the board. Who is it? Hope it stays that way for a week and it works. Maybe he'll keep it?

I'm actually very happy that BJ is in a spot where he can hit runners in. Again, I've been so happy with his progression.

It is lame to bat Harang eighth. I hope he comes up with the bases loaded and two outs.

Man the way this team has been hitting, I don't care if they bat an Elephant 8th, I just needs a good shake up. I like this line up.

The lineup wasn't producing before. I am glad to see it a little different than it has been. Fredi needs to try and get things moving. At this point it is a guessing game if anyone will actually start hitting. Can't fault Fredi at all.

I hate that we have to put Justin at 2nd because he has cleanup hitter potential.. or at least should be hitting 3rd with Freddie cleanup.

Hopefully if LaStella comes up soon he can hit leadoff and Heyward to 3rd Justin to 2 or vice versa.

I'd be ok with either Heyward/Justin/Freddie hitting 3rd.

Doesnt matter what the lineup is. As long as they are swinging for the fences and not executing with risp, the struggles will continue.

Fredi says the pitcher hitting 8th is not a one game thing, he said it's likely to last the rest of the week.

I take this to mean pastor and Pena will be splitting duties at 2B and hitting 9th in hopes of getting on in front of Heyward and Justin.

Maybe Uggla is finally out for good?

Fredi wants to be fired.

He's just on the good stuff now, riding it for as long as he can:

I think only a professional psychoanalyst could understand this. Fredi has to go through these contortions to somehow limit the psychological impact on Uggla. I always found it curious he wouldn't hit Uggla 8th. So now he his leaving him out of the lineup, but batting his replacement ninth. Maybe it does make Uggla feel better. But to me it just seems weird. Pendleton for manager.

lol

I like this lineup. The pitcher is not going to hit more than twice unless we are scoring a lot or he is pitching well. The third at bat will be a pinch hitter just like normal.

Since the team has been so depressing recently anyone else up for a drinking game tonight. Drink when a brave k's, for every run the cards score, and whenenver the opposing pitcher gets on base.

Must try something new. I don't totally understand the benefits of batting the pitcher 8th, but nothing else is working anyway.
