GDT #31: 5/5/14 Cardinals vs Braves 7:10 PM

I could care less if strikes 1 and 2 were strikes. That's what they were called. Strike 3 was a strike. Justin may not have done anything with it because it was a great pitch, but you don't leave the bat on the shoulders in that situation. You fight it off and get the next one.

Those two bad calls changed the at bat. Justin was clearly looking for something off speed and that goober made a good pitch. I don't understand...that wasn't the first time you've seen that in baseball.

No. opposing pitchers can never make a good pitch against us. It's Greg Walker's fault

I think you have to be ready for either. I'm getting a little irritated with guys constantly blaming an umpire.

I thought you were a little more rational than that. I suppose you don't understand the difference a 2-0 count vs an 0-2 makes on an at bat.

Oh well. JUSTIN SUCKZ

Where did I say that? I've played baseball. I understand the concept of having to protect on 0-2, not leaving the bat on your shoulder assuming every pitcher is going to throw you junk or a pitch above your head like some pitching coaches preach.

Never said Justin sucked, or that he would have hit that pitch.

BJ and CJ both had good swings that AB. We are getting close to busting out in a huge huge way. I mean, Simmons doesn't make an incredibly rare error, we are winning with Kimbrel coming in.

A 98 mph fastball on the absolute lower black of the plate is not an easy pitch to hit, especially with the possibility of an off-speed pitch. Best he could have done with that pitch anyway was what Gattis just did
