GDT: 4/10 vs CARDINALS as Worst Week Ever continues

So stupid that Matheney is hitting Rosenthal in a 6 run lead all so that he can get a save... why waste his pitches in a blowout?

That save stat was the dumbest thing ever created in the sport

Probably just scared of the braves' dangerous offense

Not as bad as how Fredi wasted Grilli and Viz yesterday.

All I can hear watching this is Coppy's words from the offseason. "We won't get caught short in the pen again".

Yeah, about that...

Don't forget the whole front office took a "collective vow" not to let a repeat of last year happen. But maybe they didn't mean it.

He's doing the exact same thing... wasting Rosenthal in a blowout

But it wasn't a blowout at the time he brought him in, now he's just allowing him to get the save. I am not saying I agree with it, I am just saying using Viz in a blowout and then letting Grilli throw 30 or so pitches in the same blowout was worse.

We have nothing to gain by winning right?

The more this snowballs the better.

Since Chacin is coming up to start, I'd expect Jose to go byebye and either Ryan Weber (RHP) or Hunter Cervenka (LHP) to replace Winkler. Weber could if they are looking to sign a second lefty soon, but they may be leaning towards giving Hunter a shot as he's been great since signing last year. He hasn't even given up an earned run in a Braves uniform going back to last year (19 games total, 16 with G-Braves last year).

Well, this disastrous start will make it easier to show an upward trajectory in the second half, I suppose. There's also the benefit of adding another nail to Fredi's coffin.

Another guy who should probably be getting a tad nervous is Roger McDowell. It's early of course, but I'm not sure he has enough "juice" with the FO at this point to be a sure thing if they bring in a new Manager.
