No need to take Perez out yet. The pen has gotten abused the last two days, so why lengthen the game.

Better yet, why waste your one LHP in the 5th inning?

Will Fredi give him a chance to succeed?

I see Fredi putting him in the 8 spot, so he won't have a chance to show off his wheels. With Stubbs' homer today, he might stick with the old gritty "vet" and have Mallex just pinch run in late inning situations :FrediWut:
 
It took me just two games to be convinced that we don't need to see AJ until every 5th day/game.

Of course, AJ is probably warming up his bat in the batting cages right now getting ready for Scherzer.
 
I don't understand wasting your one LHP for just one out in the 5th inning.... especially when these same lefties will be up in more pressure situations later in the game.
 
So Withrow gives up a walk and a hit to two of those three lefty hitters, not to mention the tieing run.

Fits in nicely with our overall strategy of not contending.

The synergy between Fredi and poor roster construction is amazing.
 
Still don't understand why Gant was sent down in favor of Withrow. Nothing against him, but you need to let him play.

Gant is better off developing as a starter. But why Withrow when there have been some decent lefties out there we could claim.
