I think he's a smart guy who just wasn't very good at hitting major-league baseballs. Still, he made the smart play back in the day, choosing baseball over football.
 
JF is a good announcer, but he doesn't have a good voice for it. He's like tony romo (not as good though imo).

He did dumb stuff on the field. Seemed to have a low baseball IQ.

And I’ll never forget the infamous “OBP isn’t on the scoreboard” gaff.
