GDT: 4/11 Braves vs Red: Braves Need to Get Albies Wright

8-4 and it feels like we are nowhere even near hitting our gear. Fried out, Iggy out, Harris out, just got Wright back, been starting 3-rookies, hopefully getting all those guns back soon and Soroka progressing nicely. All-in-all, 8-4 not to shabby a start

This has real “list out the roster” vibes.

Just saw a surprising stat on the MLB network crawler …. Said Albies has a four game hit streak and has a hit in 10 of 12 games this year - surely that is wrong …

Yeah- I just looked it up - maybe we are being a tad hasty around here … of course that HR tonight goes a long way to mitigating what is a frustrating long line of “less than expected”

Could Tonkin have some starting ability? I get he hasn't started since the minors way back in 2011... I have just been impressed with his stuff in the early going and his statcast data looks pretty good.

He is rocking a .609 OPS, and the order those 13 times on base were collected matters less at this point than the underlying measurables.

The homerun last night will only embolden Ozzie to swing at more junk pitches out of the zone. That pitch was way below the strike zone and he golfed it up.

It was low and in to a lefty. That's a danger zone even when no where near a strike. I've seen Freddy hit the same pitch out more times than I can count.

It's the eye level fastball that annoys me.

Freddie can also lay off that pitch. And other pitches.

Ozzie swings at it because his pitch recognition right now is terrible. A foot outside and a foot inside are all the same to him. He's swinging.

eye level any pitch.. that and the outside rollover like last night with bases loaded. I personally think they need to close his stance a lot more. He then does the excessive leg lift and puts his foot right back down in the open position.

Feels like he’s been barreling a lot more baseballs this year. Hopefully his luck catches up some point soon.

doesnt help he only got a single on that rocket to the wall due to runners on base. but yeah he looks a lot better than his numbers show
