It is nice to see Pache get a day off, I feel like he is pressing and could benefit from the rest

Duvall won't do anything. Marlins got conned into making him an everyday player. Just don't let him face a lefty.

Riley 3B

I've been as big a Riley-skeptic as anyone, but he's been hitting the ball hard and is passing the defensive eye-test, at least, with some truly nifty plays at 3B. Last night was a great example of each of those things, but he's also sporting a .317 xwoba against a .218 woba.

He could strike out a little less (28.1% k-rate, up from last season's 23.8%) and walk a little more (6.3% bb-rate, down from last season's 7.8%), but he's mostly (a) getting unlucky and (b) not lofting the ball at all yet (LA for the season is 3.5). Both his luck and his LA should improve with more PA.

I was just about to post this. Riley, like most of the Braves hitters, has better inputs than his results show. I expect some positive regression from him.

Is positive regression an oxymoron? I like it though.

In analytics, regression is movement towards an established mean, and can be positive or negative. In this context it is not the opposite of "progression", as progression tends to refer to real improvement of that established mean...or an increase in "true talent". Seems clear as mud to me.
