Do you think Wren was the one that promoted him? JS was in charge of the organization when Wren was here. Especially in the early years.

I am the one being prodded here as if Wren actually had anything to do with Albies/Acuna.

I'm not privy to how much weight Wren had in the internal decision-making, but typically that kind of hire is the GM's call and it happened early in his tenure before he started to be doubted by his superiors. I'm guessing it was Wren's call subject to some input by JS. Thinking back to other early hires by Wren, the Freddie Gonzalez hire (which does not reflect as well on him) was clearly his call based on the articles written about it when it happened, though obviously Bobby and JS had some say. So if Wren was responsible for hiring the manager, it is likely he had similar responsibility for hiring Almaraz.

I might add that the director of international scouting hired by Hart (to much acclaim by you and others around here) turned out to be a yuge disaster.

They picked him as a scapecoat because they wanted to save themselves and with him being the gm he was the easiest one to blame. Are you really this stupid? Add yourself to the list, dummy.

Hart was a disaster and an embarrassment to the organization. We will always have this black mark. I was 110% wrong about him.
