I remember when a bunch of people wanted Jimenez cut last year after a SSS. I'm willing to give Bummer a bit more leash... he's been a very good reliever in the past and was insanely unlucky last year. This year has been a combo of hard hit balls and bad luck.

Yeah, I’m not being remotely serious - it was a poor job of goofing around on my part. I wanted to join in on the overreaction fun……

It's funny. Apparently Lopez wasn't good enough to start for the White Sox. And Jesse Chavez wasn't good enough to make their team this spring. 26 combined innings from them so far with an ERA well under 1

Lopez has said the difference is he learned how to sequence his pitches better since he was last in the rotation. I don't know how good he will be at the end of the day but he was never lacking in stuff. I am fairly confident he can be a sub 4 ERA SP going forward assuming health. Which is a massive bargain for his salary.

It was interesting to watch Lopez last night. These arguably great Houston hitters were flailing at junk sliders a foot off the plate. Maybe it's something in his mechanics that makes every pitch look like a strike out of his hands.

Yeah- no kidding - some of those pitches and swings looked like Phil Niekro vs. Jeff Francoeur….

I can't believe how far that ball ricocheted... that had to hurt so bad.

I'm pretty sure he still wears knee brace doesn't he? At least it looks like he wears some sort of brace. It may be more of a sleeve than a full brace, but it would probably absorb some of the impact.
