Man... is Elder for real? Sitting at a 2.53 FIP/3.44 xFIP... very small sample size but had a solid limited line for a 4 or 5 last year as well

Was more incorporating last year's 54 innings as well when he had a 4.17 xFIP... this year he is certainly pitching better than a 4/5... I just don't know how long it will last

yeah, I wasn't proclaiming him an ace.. just saying 3.44 Xfip is more a #2. He needs to see teams twice and see how they adjust to really see how good he is or isn't.

I’ve been pro elder as a fifth starter from the beginning. Even when he stunk last year.

This game has been a Chavez special.

I don’t think he’s any more than a avg 4 or top end 5. A guy you let another team overpay. But I’d love to be wrong if he’s better.

He’s doing better than expected so tell him not to punch any walls like ynoa.
