GDT 4/23/24: Braves vs Marlins - Get it together Fried

They were able to replace Freeman and gotten lucky with Arica but whatever decision they make on Max might have more consequences when it is all said and done.

Strider should be back in 25, and we have a ton of arms in the minors. Plus payroll wise, we're like 70 mil under the first threshold. Max is great but they have enough to replace him.

I would rather have Max another five than count on Strider at this point. Nothing wrong with a starter spending 10 years in one uni, especially since the Braves currently have let's see what we get today in the 3-4-5 spots. I want to see the Braves start rewarding these guys with all that's coming through the turnstiles

I'd rather the Braves pay for future work rather than past work.

You pay someone for what they're do in the future, not in the past. Love Max, but AA's making the right move letting him walk unless he takes a very very team friendly contract.

Can't wait til Fried gives up a double to start the ninth and the board starts bitching at Snit.

People who understand game situation leverage understand it’s ok to extend Fried a bit with a 5 run lead.

When the BABIP gods don’t hate Fried he can throw gems like this. When the BABIP gods hate him he gives up 3 hits on weak contact and disaster follows.

Based on these last two games I expect the Ace of the staff to no hit them. They are a glorified AA lineup. I am curious how the next few weeks will play out with the rotation since we have quite a few off days coming. We could use Fried/Lopez on regular rest to line them up with the Dodgers series rather than having Morton/Elder in game 2 and 3 of that series.
