GDT 4/24/24: Braves vs Marlins - Lopez is our Tromp card

The need for some to bend over backwards defending Dino-snit is adorable. Is he your uncle?

I'm more curious if he was given the job over Matt's relative? You tell me, though. When is it acceptable for Acuña to play the game how he's always played it? What specific things does Snit need to tell him that you're certain he hasn't already?

WINNING!!

Fish are probably happy to get out of here. Their flight home....

Fly home fishies

Next up, the big bad Guardians of Cleveland.

I feel pretty confident my dead uncle could do just as well. But if you are struggling with the difference between spring and a regular season game then not sure what else needs to be said.

Oh and I sort of hate guys celebrating like they do. No reason to jump on players. But I would t blame that on twit. But having players stealing in spring and not putting an immediate stop to it is 100% dumb. Acuna might just be slumping. But 2022 showed us when his knee isn’t fully healthy he is just good not mvp good.

How about employing common sense for players who very clearly have a low baseball IQ? Isn’t that what a superb “people person” like Snit should be excellent at? I’m confident runs downs and stolen bases in ST are very clearly dumb ways to push a surgically repaired knee, and you would agree if you weren’t dead set on defending that fool at all costs.

If snit can’t manage his way out of a wet paper bag, and he can’t convince players like Acuna to do things like intelligently push his knee, what does he bring to the table? Literally…what skill set does he bring? Snit may be the most overrated manager in history.

I don't understand the mindset to always be mad and snitpicking about something. The Braves win. Isn't that all that matters? Move on.

I guess I'm just saying, to each their own. Snit certainly isn't perfect, but sheesh, what a time to be a Braves fan!

I will concede that I have an irrational dislike for him. I think he is completely unqualified but in the end he doesn’t prevent this team from succeeding. I think this team is really fun to watch. I just hate seeing acuna struggle like this and almost wonder if a quick 10 day vacation when Ozzie comes back might help him some.

I like Snit...I just wish he'd get in an umpires @$$ every now and then...especially on that foul ball out debacle against Harris...Harris had to feel he was pleasing his case alone out there because never left the dugout.

Basically, yes. It's just comical how people present on here like they know every conversation that has and hasn't taken place. I wasn't wild about Acuña playing winter ball with how hard he goes, but what are you gonna do? What magic thing is there to say to him?

The umpiring has gotten to a point where every manager could be out there arguing just about every night. In the majority of games I've watched this year, there have been multiple inexcusably bad calls. Getting worse by the week.

If he leaves Bryce Elder out there to wilt again in another Game 3 like a moron, it'll be time to have the graceful exit conversation.

If there were actual managers out there that coach like they wanted I would understand the complaints. Its just a fact of life the manager won't coach the way you want. In 30+ years of following the Braves I have never seen a time when Braves fans didn't complain about the manager. We would go through a manager every series if fans had their way.

I'll give you that one. I started liking Snit over that infamous replay at the plate where he went off. He was all fired up and it was great. I too would like to see more of that.
