GDT 4/26/25: Braves vs Diamondbacks - Keep It Going Holmes

Never thought I’d be actually confident watching Grant Holmes pitch. He’s gonna mess these chumps up.

Other side of the deal - Soda Cracker or Allen (or maybe both) is/are gonna put one in the swimming pool!
 
Interesting decision to be made about Ozuna as a FA. It’s almost certain Acuna will need to be the DH starting next year, but Ozuna is clearly the best hitter on the roster.
 
Nice defense by Olson to get the double play with an on the money throw around the baserunner. I troll him when he screws up so it's only fair to comment when he makes a solid play.

Why is it certain Acuña will need to be the full-time DH next year? I’m not saying all of his athleticism won’t have deteriorated due to the two knee injuries, but I don’t see how it’s such a sure thing either.

He’s been a negative defender with 1 rebuilt knee, so it stands to reason he’ll be even more negative with 2 rebuilt knees. It’s reasonable to expect he’s barely better than Soler out there moving forward, and a lot of people will confuse arm strength with competent OF defense…as they do now with Acuna.

And that doesn’t even take into account the injury protection from not Running around the OF.
